  1. Absolutely loved this episode, BOIZZ! (or should I say, I absolutely loved this EPISODE! Boys) ;-)

I think my favorite of the episode was either the Neo Geo track, or the Power Golf TG16 title track!

I can't wait to hear the experimental music episode! I shot you an e-mail with a ton of tracks just now (the Stage 4 track from Psychosis on the TG16 that we talked about before the free-play, a couple from Strider on the Genesis, and almost the entire Chakan the Forever Man soundtrack (also on Genesis)). I can't wait to see which tracks, if any you play from that pool. But even if it's none of them, I know it'll still be a great set!

Keep up the good WORK! Golf Boys. :-)

  2. You know what's crazy..is before I started listening to this show I always thought the best music from games would be coming from SHMUPS and RPGS...but I dunno.. you gays make a REALLY strong case that some of the best tunes are coming from Golf Games. Like, what is it about golf games that makes them SO GOOD. I wonder if it's that Golf Music is a little more grounded and seems to be composed with real instruments in mind, (kind of like Arcade Sega Days) instead of just crazy over the top tunes we usually tend to hear.

  3. That Shiny Afternoon track is such a smooth groove. I'm feeling it, big time.

  4. I'm halfway through the episode so I don't know if you figured it out, but an Arnold Palmer is sweet tea and lemonade. Arizona also has a jack Nicklaus sweet tea and strawberry lemonade. Maybe they don't have those in Cali, but they're super popular here in GA.

  5. I found an article about Winning Shot (and golf games in general) very interesting about the culture of golf in Japan. This seems relevant to this episode: http://magweasel.com/2009/09/22/i-love-the-pc-engine-winning-shot/

  6. The last three episodes have been the best concentrated run in as long as I can remember. Great episode. That ganbare golf boys song would be on the top ten of the year if I made one. Legit epic

    2. Granted, it wasn't the amazing Genesis one that we've played before.

  10. Jun Ishikawa was the composer for HAL's Hole in One Golf, according to Tadashi Ikegami.

    1. That's what I heard, but I don't really believe it. It just doesn't sound like his style. I think Ikegami could be mistaken.

  11. Just chiming in to say I love you guys. I'm keeping up with your current episodes while simultaneously building my way up through the entire series from day one. You make my 2-hour roundtrip commute to work fly by!

If I could make just one recommendation for the next episode, try X-Men 2: Clone Wars for Genesis. It's weird and wonderful stuff. Rob, I think you will totally dig it. Brent, I think you might hate it. Fair warning!
