Episode 213: Sports 5

Another Sports focus!  Rob also gets some things off his chest in a major way.  Brent and Rob attempt to do sports commentary, but they do it in a unique way (one might say a bad way).  Also look out for a NeverEnding Story sing along and a discussion of “soccer” versus “football” in an English accent.  Full track listing below.

  1. The only affiliation Jaleco had with Cyberball was the NES port. Sega ported it in-house under license from Tengen, as far as I can tell. The Genesis music definitely has that first-gen YM2612 Japanese sound, so I wouldn’t be surprised to discover it was Tokuhiko Uwabo or one of Sega’s early in-house composers.

  2. Pebble Beach Golf Links is such a great soundtrack

I'm surprised at Brent going for Konami as the best game music, I thought he might go Sunsoft!

  3. Another cracking episode boizz!

Laughed out loud at the bit about "Sonic's fast and everyone else is furious."

Also, as an Englishman, I loved Brent's English accent. It was well weird but well good.

  4. I was excited by the portion.

Great episode boys, but I have one (slightly pedantic) correction: soccer/football is known as 'calcio' ('pronounced cal-chio', obviously) in Italy.

  5. This is so random, I was just listening to the TG16 episode and I just saw the news that Konami is releasing a TG16 mini.... https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2019/06/konami-announces-plug-and-play-turbografx-16-mini/
